About

Iris van der Sluijs is a Dutch Illustrator based in Rotterdam, where she studies Illustration at the Willem de Kooning Academy (WDKA). She is currently on exchange at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent to refine her artistic voice and style.

Inspired by the wonder of childhood, her illustrations evoke curiosity and reflection. Her work blends surrealism and escapism, and with bold contrasts and layered storytelling, her pieces feel like a journey into another reality.

As an artist, Iris aims to create work that lingers —stories and images that transport, inspire, and invite exploration. She is driven to master traditional techniques, experiment with new forms, and collaborate with other artists to push creative boundaries.

Curious and ambitious, Iris is always searching for ways to grow and connect through her art.
